Police are urging Winnipeggers to avoid an area in the city’s West End where an active homicide investigation is taking place.
Officers initially arrived at 821 St. Matthews Avenue in response to a report about suspicious circumstances, when they found an injured man outside.
The man was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead.
Nearby Greenway School was under a hold and secure briefly, but that has reportedly been lifted.
