A man was taken to hospital after a shooting in a townhouse complex in Kitchener on Monday night, according to Waterloo Regional Police.
“We responded to a report of a shooting in the area of River Road, east in Victoria Street in Kitchener at approximately 8:00 p.m.,” Const. Andre Johnson said.
Police said an altercation began inside an apartment which continued outside the building before the suspect was shot.

“Upon arrival, a male was located with serious injuries and was transported to hospital,” Johnson said.
Police said the victim remains in serious condition.

“A number of suspects were seen fleeing the area in what’s believed to be a black SUV and a four-door silver car,” Johnson said.
The vehicle was last spotted travelling west on River Road towards Frederick Street.
This is the third shooting of the year in Waterloo Region.
