Halifax Regional Police say they arrested a suspect after an elderly woman was pushed to the ground and had her purse stolen on Sunday.
“After receiving information from the public, investigators arrested a 32-year-old man without incident in Halifax last night,” police said in a new release on Wednesday.
The suspect was charge with robbery.
Police first released photos of the suspect on Tuesday.

In that release, they said a 77-year-old woman was leaving Sobeys on Mumford Road in the city’s west end just before 9 p.m. on Sunday, “when a man pushed her to the ground and stole her purse.”
According to the release, the woman suffered minor injuries, and the suspect fled on foot toward a car parked nearby.
Police described the vehicle as “light-coloured” based on security camera footage, as they sought help from the public in identifying the suspect.
