During question period on Wednesday in the House of Commons, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh brought up Canadian concerns of the COVID-19 Omicron variant and asked why Prime Minister Justin Trudeau continues to defend the interests and profits of big pharmaceutical companies when it comes to producing vaccines. In response, Trudeau stated that Canada is working to make sure country's around the world have access to vaccines through its investment in the COVAX facility and through leadership at the World Trade Organization (WTO) in removing barriers to vaccine access.
