How to Choose When to Leave Your Job
After you have decided that you want to leave your current job, you need to decide when your last day will be. This is on the basis that you of course will not be asked to leave the building as soon as possible.
If you are allowed to choose what your last day on the job will be (assuming you are leaving on good terms), then continue reading!
Do you have enough in your emergency fund?
If you are quitting, then I really hope that you have a plan. Quitting may sound nice, but without a plan then it may not be very realistic. Do you have enough money to last you until you find another job?
Planning a Long-Term Travel Budget
Lately, we have been thinking a lot about taking a long-term trip. We don't know where we want to go, how long we want to go for, or anything else. However, everyone keeps telling me that if we really want to do this, that we just need to buy a ticket and everything else will just happen from there.
I read many, many travel blogs. Some of these blogs tally up their monthly expenses in a report each month, which I really enjoy reading.
However, the amount of money that each person spends varies very widely.
Tips and Advice for Adults Going Back to College
Attending college for your first time can be scary. Whether it's your first semester or last semester, I'm going to guess that most of us get the first-day jitters. However, what if it's your first day of college and you are going back to school an adult? Yes, I know, 18 year olds are adults.
However I mean, what if after high school instead of going to college, you worked full-time and took a break that lasted years? More and more adults are going back to college in their later years.
Do You Pay Your Bills with Your Credit Card?
Whenever I tell someone that I have multiple credit cards, they for some reason like to assume that I cannot pay my bills and this is why I have them. A lot of my friends don't have a single credit card, so I can understand why they are afraid of them.
We pay nearly every one of our bills with our credit cards. The only one that I believe that we do not put on our credit cards is one utility bill and that is because they only take cash, check or a wire transfer.
There are many pluses of paying all of your bills with credit cards:
1. Reward points
Preparing Your Home For Sale
We have been thinking for quite some time about putting our house for sale and buying our next house. However, we are NOT looking forward to selling our house at all. Lets just say that I am a massive worrier and worry about everything.
Will my house sell? Will it take 1 year to sell?
OH MY what if the house takes 2 WHOLE years to sell!?
4 Ideas for Frugal Fun (cheap or free entertainment!)
Lately, we've been spending a decent amount of money on keeping ourselves entertained. Do we regret this? Yes, kind of. While we're having a good time, I'm tired of thinking that we need to spend the big bucks in order to have fun.
$25 for two movie tickets, and then buying food and candy can add up quickly and be equal to around $40 (and then you also have to factor in the costs to get to the actual movie theater). Or how about whenever we feel bored, so we go shopping. That is always a lot of money of course also!
There are many reasons for why we want to spend less money and be more frugal with our entertainment. We are really working on paying off my student loans, and we would also just like to focus more on having fun while not spending a ton of money.
How To Save Money on Rent: 7 Easy Ways
We own our house that we have now, but we did rent three other places before we finally bought a house. We didn't negotiate or strategize for the best prices, but we should have!
There are many ways to get the best value for the place that you choose. I'm not saying that you should try and swindle your landlord, just try and search for the best deal.
Remember to be nice when you are talking to the landlord. You don't want to start with an outlandish offer such as offering $200 on a $1,000 asking price for the rental.
